The practical questions behind an AI campaign: brief, budget, brand control, rights and publication.
Planning a production
How much does an AI production cost, and how long does it take?
The scope depends on the brief: visual complexity, product accuracy, duration, versions, sound and approvals all affect the work. Most projects start from a base timeline of around 15 working days. We define the approach, quote and expected schedule before production starts.
Why do you share an AI test with the quote?
Before accepting a project, we test the creative and technical direction internally. We share that test with the quote so you can judge the potential result before committing to full production.
What should we send with our brief?
Share the idea, references, brand and product assets, intended channels, deliverables, launch date and budget range. We use those to define the production approach and test what the brief needs.
Do you work with agencies as well as brands?
Yes. We work with agencies and brand teams on real AI advertising campaigns, from the brief and first production test to feedback, approvals and final delivery.
Creative control and delivery
Can you keep our product and brand consistent?
Every detail must stay faithful to your product and brand. We test the most demanding details, review key stills with you before animation and refine the result in post-production. If there’s a technical limitation, we explain it before moving forward.
How much creative control do I have with AI videos?
You can have a high level of creative control in AI video production, but it needs to be directed properly. We work with references, visual direction, prompt development, iterations and post-production to control style, framing, camera movement, rhythm, product presence and final delivery. AI opens possibilities; direction keeps them on brand.
Can AI-generated scenes be mixed with existing footage or stock?
Yes. AI-generated scenes can be combined with existing client footage, stock material, product assets, photography, motion graphics and post-production. The key is to make everything feel consistent: the same visual language, rhythm, lighting, color, format and campaign idea.
What formats can you deliver?
Final films, images and assets are delivered in the formats and technical specifications agreed for the campaign, including the required versions and adaptations.
Rights and publication
Can AI-generated films and images be used in advertising?
Yes. Button produces AI films and images for advertising across TV, digital, social, print and out-of-home. We work to the applicable EU requirements and agree the media, markets and usage rights before production, including any disclosure needed for publication.
Who owns the final work, and what usage rights do we receive?
Usage rights are defined in the project agreement: the deliverables, channels, territories and term, together with any third-party licences. Commercial permission does not automatically mean every AI-generated element is copyright-protected or exclusive. These points should be clear before production begins.
Is commercial use the same as copyright protection?
No. Permission to use material commercially is different from copyright protection or exclusivity. Protection depends on the applicable law and human creative contribution. The agreement and relevant licences should address the rights the campaign needs.
Do AI-generated ads need to be labelled?
EU rules require clear disclosure for AI-generated or manipulated images, video or audio that could falsely appear authentic. This can include realistic fictional scenes. Creative works allow an adapted disclosure, rather than a blanket exemption. We agree the appropriate wording and placement for each campaign, alongside its channel requirements.
